Day 1

  • San Jose - Monteverde

  • 153km

8.jpg

Riding from San José to Monteverde is one of the most memorable road trips in Costa Rica — an adventure that transitions from bustling city streets to mist-covered cloud forests. The first part of the route, heading northwest from San José, is smooth and fast — you’ll follow the Route 27 highway toward Puntarenas, surrounded by rolling green hills, and glimpses of the Pacific lowlands. After about two hours, you’ll turn off near Las Juntas or Sardinal, where the road begins to climb toward the mountains. This is where the real adventure begins: the views are absolutely breathtaking — panoramic valleys, rivers, and distant peaks. As you climb higher, the air becomes cooler and fresher. You’ll pass through small rural communities  before entering the cloud forest region. Finally, as we roll into Monteverde, the temperature drops, the forest thickens, and a cool mountain breeze welcomes us. You’ll feel it instantly: the peace, the mystery, the sense that you’ve arrived somewhere truly alive.

Day 2

  • Monteverde - La Fortuna

  • 159km

9.png

We leave the misty heights of Monteverde and descend through smooth, curving mountain roads that quickly open into wide valleys and fresh mountain air.

Soon, the shimmering blue of Lake Arenal appears beside us, stretching endlessly under the sky. The road hugs its shoreline, twisting gracefully through lush green hills.

As we round the lake, the mighty Arenal Volcano dominates the horizon — silent, majestic, and magnetic. The final approach to La Fortuna is pure joy: perfect pavement, tropical air, and views that make you forget you’re still on Earth.

This ride captures everything Costa Rica is about — freedom, beauty, and nature at its most alive.

Day 3

  • La Fortuna

  • Free Day to take tours and explore the area

Today, there’s no need to pack or start the engines.
We’re in one of Costa Rica’s most complete and iconic tourist destinations. Thanks to its blend of nature, adventure, hot springs, luxury, and breathtaking views, this is the perfect place for a free day full of unforgettable experiences.

You can enjoy everything from ziplining over the jungle, visiting the majestic La Fortuna Waterfall, hiking across hanging bridges, horseback riding, kayaking on the lake, white-water rafting, or simply unwinding with spa massages, among many other options.

Day 4

  • La Fortuna - Rincon de la Vieja

  • 206km

Leaving behind the towering Arenal Volcano, we ride north through open countryside where green hills fade into wide ranchlands. The road to Guayabo is smooth and scenic — a true taste of Costa Rica’s backroads, with gentle curves, fresh air, and glimpses of rural life at every turn.

Passing small towns and endless pastures, the ride feels calm and connected — just you, the bike, and the rhythm of the land. As we approach Rincón de la Vieja, the landscape transforms again: the air thickens with the scent of forest and earth, and distant steam vents hint at the volcanic power below.

The final stretch climbs into cooler air and winding roads surrounded by jungle. By the time we arrive, the adventure shifts from rolling plains to a world of waterfalls, hot springs, and volcanic trails.

Day 5

  • Rincon de la Vieja - Flamingo

  • 199km

We start the day surrounded by the raw power of Rincón de la Vieja, where the air smells of sulfur and jungle, and steam rises from the earth. The road winds down from the volcanic foothills, smooth and open, offering long, flowing curves through tropical dry forest and cattle country.

As we descend, the landscape shifts — from rugged mountain greens to golden plains dotted with giant Guanacaste trees. The heat builds, the sky widens, and suddenly, the scent of salt fills the air.

Before long, we reach Playa Flamingo, where the Pacific glows in impossible shades of turquoise. The final ride along the coast is pure freedom — ocean breeze, palm-lined roads, and the sound of waves rolling just beyond the cliffs.

This stage is the perfect transition — from the power of the volcano to the calm of the sea, all in one unforgettable ride.

Day 6

  • Free day at Flamingo

13.png

After days on the road, the roar of the engines gives way to the sound of waves. Playa Flamingo is where riders trade helmets for sunglasses and simply breathe. The pace slows down — and that’s exactly the point.

The morning begins easy, with coffee overlooking the turquoise bay and the gentle hum of fishing boats heading out. The sand here is soft and pale, the water calm and clear — perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, or just floating without a care in the world.

Some riders take to the sea, exploring hidden coves by jet ski or catamaran. Others stay on land, hiking the nearby hills for panoramic views or visiting local markets for a taste of Guanacaste’s laid-back charm.

By afternoon, it’s all about good food and good company — fresh ceviche, grilled fish, and maybe an ice-cold beer as the sun starts to drop. Flamingo’s sunsets are legendary; the sky burns gold, pink, and orange, reflecting off the ocean like liquid fire.

Day 7

  • Flamingo - Puerto Carrillo

  • 163km

14.png

We roll out of Playa Flamingo with the ocean still glittering beside us and the warm Pacific breeze on our backs. The route heads south along the Nicoya Peninsula, where smooth coastal roads twist gently between tropical hills, hidden beaches, and sleepy fishing towns.

This is one of those rides that feels effortless — long curves, open views, and the sound of the sea never too far away. We pass through charming coastal villages, perfect for a quick stop, a drink, or just to breathe in the salty air.

As we approach Puerto Carrillo, the scenery opens wide — golden sand, turquoise water, and palm trees lining one of Costa Rica’s most pristine beaches. The day ends with the sunset reflecting off the bay, and that feeling only a perfect ride can give.

Day 8

  • Puerto Carrillo - Montezuma

  • 180km

Montezuma-costa-rica-las-manchas.jpg

We leave the calm beauty of Puerto Carrillo and head deeper into the heart of the Nicoya Peninsula, where every kilometer feels raw, wild, and alive. The coastal road winds through rolling hills, dry forest, and stretches of untouched countryside where time seems to stand still.

The ride south is pure joy — smooth pavement mixed with the occasional rural stretch, gentle curves, and constant views of the Pacific shimmering in the distance. We pass through small towns where surfboards lean against palm trees and locals greet you with a wave.

As we near Montezuma, the landscape grows lusher and wilder. The jungle thickens, waterfalls tumble near the road, and monkeys sometimes swing overhead as if welcoming us to their domain.

By the time we roll into town, Montezuma’s bohemian spirit greets us — colorful streets, ocean breeze, and that unmistakable laid-back energy that makes you want to stay longer.

A ride through freedom, nature, and the untamed coast — this is the Nicoya at its purest.

Day 9

  • Montezuma - San Jose

  • 151km

FOTO-BLOG-4.jpg

We start the day with the sound of waves still echoing in our helmets as we ride out of Montezuma, following the coast north toward the ferry port in Paquera. The morning light filters through the jungle, the road winding past beaches and small fishing villages where life moves to the rhythm of the tide.

At Paquera, we roll the bikes onto the Gulf of Nicoya ferry — an unforgettable moment of calm between rides. As the engines rest, we cross the blue waters surrounded by islands, sea birds, and the salty breeze of the Pacific. Riders kick back on deck, coffee in hand, watching the shoreline drift by — a perfect pause before the final stretch.

Once we dock in Puntarenas, we hit the road again, following smooth pavement back through the Central Valley. The air cools, the city lights appear in the distance, and the mountains rise around us as we close the loop back to San José.
