Day 1

  • San Jose - Puerto Viejo

  • 211km

1.jpg

The moment to ride has arrived!
After breakfast, we begin our journey toward the Costa Rican Caribbean. The route takes us east of San José, through mountain ranges covered in Tropical Cloud Forest, with gentle curves and breathtaking views.

Along the way, you'll feel the changes in climate, landscape, and pace of life.
Our final destination: Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, a vibrant coastal town where Afro-Caribbean culture and wild nature blend with a unique energy.

Day 2

  • Puerto Viejo - Turrialba

  • 176km

2.jpg

We leave behind the reggae rhythm and golden sands of Puerto Viejo, trading the warm Caribbean breeze for the cool air of the mountains ahead. The road climbs gradually through lush jungle, banana plantations, and small villages painted in bright colors — pure Caribbean soul.

We pass through Siquirres and begin the ascent toward Turrialba, one of Costa Rica’s most scenic routes.

The ride becomes a dance of curves and views — smooth mountain roads cutting through valleys and coffee-covered slopes. The towering Turrialba Volcano appears in the distance, sometimes wrapped in mist, always majestic.

By the time we reach town, the temperature has dropped, and the vibe has shifted from tropical to tranquil. It’s the perfect place to unwind — surrounded by nature, hot springs, and the quiet rhythm of rural Costa Rica.

Day 3

  • Turrialba- Perez Zeledon

  • 183km

3.jpg

Leaving Turrialba, the route toward Pérez Zeledón takes you on one of the most scenic and unforgettable drives in Costa Rica — crossing the legendary Cerro de la Muerte, part of the Talamanca mountain range.

The journey begins surrounded by lush coffee plantations and the rolling green hills of Turrialba. As you climb higher into the mountains, the air turns crisp and cool, and mist often dances among the trees. The road winds through cloud forests, where you might catch glimpses of quetzals or hummingbirds darting between the branches.

At the summit, more than 3,300 meters above sea level, you’ll find yourself above the clouds — a breathtaking sight where the horizon seems endless. Then begins the descent, as the vegetation gradually changes again: from highland paramo to dense rainforest, until the warmth of the Southern Zone welcomes you back.

By the time you reach Pérez Zeledón, you’ve traveled through several microclimates, each revealing a different face of Costa Rica’s incredible biodiversity — a day’s ride that truly feels like crossing an entire country in just a few hours.

Day 4

  • Perez Zeledon - Golfito

  • 204km

Leaving Pérez Zeledón, the route toward Golfito through San Vito and Ciudad Neilly offers a quieter and more authentic ride through the deep south of Costa Rica.

You’ll start by winding your way through the lush foothills of the Talamanca Mountains, passing small farming villages and endless green pastures.

From San Vito, the road continues downhill toward Ciudad Neilly, with wide open views of the Coto Brus Valley and the forested ridges that border Panama. The air gets warmer, the jungle thicker, and the ride smoother as you head toward the Pacific lowlands.

Finally, you turn west toward Golfito, entering a region where the rainforest meets the sea. The last stretch feels like riding into a hidden paradise — surrounded by dense tropical greenery, the call of scarlet macaws, and the shimmering waters of the Golfo Dulce waiting at the end of the road.

Day 5

  • Golfito - Puerto Jimenez

  • 128km

5.jpg

Leaving Golfito, the road hugs the calm waters of the Golfo Dulce — one of Costa Rica’s most untouched corners. The jungle feels closer here, thicker, wilder. Scarlet macaws flash overhead, and the scent of rain and salt lingers in the air.

The route winds along a smooth, paved road through palm groves and rainforest, passing small rural communities where life flows slowly and smiles come easily. It’s a peaceful, scenic ride — the kind that reminds you why you came.

As we approach Puerto Jiménez, the gateway to the legendary Corcovado National Park, the horizon opens again to the gulf. The town is laid-back and full of adventure energy — a mix of locals, travelers, and the wildness of nature just beyond.

A short ride, but one that feels like entering another world — raw, tropical, and unforgettable.

Day 6

  • Free Day at Puerto Jimenez

  • 128km

6.png

Today you have a free day at Puerto Jimenez. Puerto Jiménez is the gateway to Costa Rica’s wildest side — the Osa Peninsula. From here, you can explore the legendary Corcovado National Park, home to tapirs, jaguars, scarlet macaws, and some of the most untouched rainforest on Earth. It’s one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, perfect for hiking, wildlife spotting, and photography.

You can also take a boat tour on the Golfo Dulce, where dolphins play year-round and humpback whales migrate through the calm waters from July to October and again from December to March — one of the best whale-watching experiences in the country.

Whether you’re trekking through jungle trails or cruising the gulf at sunset, Puerto Jiménez is pure wilderness magic.

Day 7

  • Puerto Jimenez - Manuel Antonio

  • 222km

Leaving Puerto Jiménez, you’ll trace the wild beauty of the Osa Peninsula before heading north along Costa Rica’s Pacific coast toward Manuel Antonio.

The road starts surrounded by dense tropical rainforest — scarlet macaws flying overhead, monkeys leaping through the trees, and the distant hum of the jungle all around. As you ride out of Osa, the route opens into coastal plains with palm plantations and views of the Golfo Dulce fading in your mirrors.

Passing through Río Claro and Palmar Norte, the ride becomes smoother and faster, following well-paved roads that wind along rivers and through small, lively towns. Near Dominical, the landscape changes again — the air fills with ocean breeze, and the road hugs the coastline, offering breathtaking sea views at every curve.

The final stretch from Dominical to Manuel Antonio is pure joy for riders: gentle curves, ocean vistas, and the unmistakable feeling of arriving back in civilization — but still surrounded by the wild charm that defines Costa Rica’s Pacific coast.

Day 8

  • Manuel Antonio - Bouganvillea

  • 177km

Leaving Manuel Antonio, the road back to San José offers a smooth and scenic finale to your Costa Rican adventure.

You’ll start with coastal views along the Costanera Sur, passing through Parrita and Jacó, where the Pacific sparkles beside you and surfers line the beaches. The ride is relaxed and fluid, with long stretches of open road framed by palm plantations and glimpses of ocean at every turn.

After Orotina, the route begins to climb gently into the Central Valley. The air cools, the scenery shifts from tropical coast to green highlands, and the traffic reminds you that the capital is near. The mountains surrounding San José rise ahead, wrapping up the journey with sweeping views and smooth, well-paved roads.

It’s a satisfying ride — the perfect transition from Costa Rica’s coastal calm back into the rhythm of the city, with the memories of rainforest, beaches, and mountain curves still fresh in your mind.
